Building Equitable & Just Organizations Through Individual and Relational Practices

BUILDING EQUITABLE & JUST ORGANIZATIONS

THROUGH INDIVIDUAL & RELATIONAL PRACTICES

We spend a huge portion of our lives in the workplace. We all deserve to work in environments that feel safe, empowering, and enable us to succeed.

This four-part online learning series supports people in cultivating more equitable and just work environments where they and other individuals in their organizations can thrive. While we recognize that as individuals, we don’t always have the decision-making power to make these changes in our organizations ourselves, this training focuses on what we can do as individuals to model and influence culture change.

Drawing from frameworks rooted in Black feminist theory, anti-racism, and organizational psychology, Building Equitable and Just Organizations Through Individual and Relational Practices offers opportunities to try on approaches and practices that identify, explore, and mitigate power imbalances; encourage healthy relationships and communication skills; and foster deeper understanding of our own agency in shifting our workplace conditions in more liberatory ways.

This series is open to folks in any role within nonprofit organizations who 1) have a desire to contribute to workplace equity and justice, and 2) seek baseline knowledge and skills-building to support their efforts.

Workshop participants will:

  • Learn a variety of approaches for analyzing power and oppression, establishing psychological safety, and understanding the characteristics of white supremacy culture
  • Feel an increased sense of empowerment as an individual to contribute to more equitable and just workplaces
  • Practice critical self-reflection, strengthen interpersonal communication skills, and deeply connect with others who share your vision for a more liberatory work environment
