About Kyla Hartsfield
[Pronouns: she / her

Kyla Hartsfield is a Southern Black Queer woman who hails from North Carolina. Kyla has six years of experience organizing around prison/police abolition, climate change, and ending gender-based violence. She uses the lens of abolition and anti-capitalism to fight and dream of a new world.

Kyla is extremely passionate about creating safe spaces for Black people, learning and teaching conflict resolution, and creating and tending to the community.

In her spare time, Kyla enjoys trying new foods, getting tattoos, and dreaming of a world without cages. She leaves you with her favorite quote from Arundhati Roy: “Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”
