Centering People During Organizational Change and Transition (2-Part Series)
This is a live, online event where you’ll participate actively with other attendees!
Registration for this training is offered on a sliding scale depending on your individual and organizational access to financial resources. Our sliding scale is an intentional effort to distribute resources equitably between organizations and individuals we work with. If your personal or organizational budget allows, please pay the Sustain or Redistribution cost so we can keep registration accessible for leaders and organizations who may not be in the same position. Greater access strengthens us all!

Do you feel it, too? The world is calling us to adapt over and over again in deep ways to face a wide variety of challenges. In the midst of constant change, how are you centering what matters most: your team's ability to navigate transitions? In a time of significant change in our world and our organizations, it’s more important than ever to gain skills and perspectives about how to lead people through transition.
Who is this training for?
When you are leading a team or an organization through a difficult change – when leadership is especially important–you will inevitably challenge what people hold dear – their daily habits, their loyalties, and their ways of thinking. This training is for social change and nonprofit leaders who lead teams and drive and influence change in their organizations. Previous training participants have found value in registering their leadership or management teams so they can bring back learning to their organizations together. Even if you don’t hold formal positional leadership at your organization, you are welcome to join!
In this online workshop, you will:
- Understand the distinction between change (an event or situation) and transition (a process) and recognize the impacts on people in your organization
- Be introduced to the Margin to Center framework as a way to identify solutions to challenges
- Learn to distinguish between adaptive challenges and technical fixes and how they apply to a change occurring in your organization

Get ready to participate!
Our trainings come alive with your participation and willingness to engage. Please be ready to participate in group discussions and share your experience, creativity, questions, and challenges with us. For example, we will ask you to share and explore a real organizational challenge that you’re currently dealing with. We’ll share visual and verbal information, make time for group discussions, and create other opportunities for real-time participation.
This is a multi-day offering. Please make sure you can attend all dates before registering and that you are familiar with our cancellation policy.
Accessibility is very important to us! Closed captioning will be provided. If you require specific accommodations (for example, receiving screen reader-friendly versions of learning materials ahead of time), please notify us at workshops@compasspoint.org two weeks in advance of the scheduled offering so that we can do our best to meet your needs. ASL interpretation is not provided unless requested.
In order to build community and protect confidentiality in the space, we do not record our workshops. If you miss a training date, we cannot provide you with a recording of the training.
