About Yasi

As a member of our teacher team, Yasi co-facilitates offerings in our public training program, focusing on Coaching Skills for Leaders, Conflict Resolution with Power and Privilege in Mind, and Supervision: Relationships and Structures that Help Us Thrive.

Yasi is honored to be a part of CompassPoint. Her work experience has been in the for and nonprofit arenas, primarily in the fields of psychology, education, and social justice.  In her prior role as the Executive Director for Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments (SAVE, Inc.), Yasi’s goal was to transcend SAVE from the traditional “social service” model of domestic violence agencies. Today, SAVE is a social justice agency rooted in intersectional feminism with three paramount intentions: to serve survivors through a deep understanding and compassion of the trauma and the systems of oppression survivors face, to provide accessible and bold community services within violence prevention, and to actively engage in systems change work to ultimately end gender-based violence. 

In 2016, Yasi was honored as an Alameda County Woman of the Year by Sen. Bob Weikowski. Yasi is a former Peace Corps Volunteer, an alum of LeaderSpring, and a past member of the Policy Advisory Council for the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence. Additionally, Yasi is a founding and current board member of BASANT Now! and a commissioner on the Alameda County Status on the Commission of Women. Most of all, Yasi is a mother of two amazing children who inspire and enliven her aspirations and intentions—to stand for peace!

Yasi holds certifications in the areas of sex education, violence prevention, rape and domestic violence, and healing through art.
